Linda Denise Daugherty is Of Counsel with Welsh, Wales & Fry, PLC, where she focuses on research, writing, and strategic support for insurance defense and complex civil litigation. She assists the firm’s attorneys and clients with contract reviews, dispositive motions, appellate and trial briefing, and in-depth legal analysis in matters involving construction defect, personal injury, and business disputes. 

Before joining Welsh, Wales & Fry, PLC, Ms. Daugherty spent the majority of her career as Associate General Counsel for UnitedHealthcare, managing and resolving a wide range of insurance and government program matters through settlement, dispositive briefing, trial, and arbitration. Her work there included business disputes, insurance bad faith claims, employment disputes, and medical malpractice matters, as well as developing litigation strategy, supervising outside counsel, and guiding discovery and motion practice. She has helped resolve disputes in a variety of settings, including direct negotiations and mediations. 

Ms. Daugherty also has substantial experience drafting and revising construction and professional services contracts to reduce risk for clients, including an architecture and land planning firm. She earned her law degree with honors from the University of Denver College of Law and has practiced in Arizona since 2009.
